So far folks who are subscribing on the website are working great.

My problem is when I manually enter subscribers.

If while entering their User information, I enter credit card billing information...and then on the "User Payments/Subscriptions" page select a Product for them and indicate the payment system we'd like to use (in our case Authorize CIM)...shouldn't they be charged beginning for the period I indicate?

That doesn't seem to be happening.

Should I be leaving the "Amount" blank?...since that should be picked up from the Product details. Or should I put in the Amount that should be charged?

I also assume that I should leave "paid" unchecked...correct? However, that doesn't give them access.

I think I'm doing something wrong. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    This gets a little tricky.

What you need to do is
    1) subscribe them to the product, starting today and ending tomorrow
    2) leave amount blank
    3) check paid
    4) if you have to manually approve new members, make sure to approve them

So you are giving them a free 1-day subscription right now. What will happen next is that when your cron runs it will see their subscription about to expire and attempt to charge their card so it can be renewed. Assuming all goes as expected, they will be paid by morning and up and running with the normal subscription.

    THANKS! That sounds simple.

Part of our package is that folks who sign up in this way get their first month free. Could also subscribe them for the product today and ending in one month (rather than tomorrow) and eliminate the one-month trial I have built into the product?

That sounds like it would work well.

That seems to be doing the trick. Subscriptions I enter have a "Cancel Recurring" option, which leads me to believe its going to work. I didn't have that before.

Thanks again! You helped us avoid a customer service nightmare
