    Hi

In the manual of amember there is a phrase in third party scripts integration like:

"...For example, it can maintain a vBulletin Board database, so that only active (paid and not-expired) members are able to access the board. ..."

What actually means exactly "... are able to access..."

Does this mean viewing anything at all? Or is it possible with amember also to set it up for viewing/reading specific threads for free and others only with a payed membership level?

I have different forums and need the most flexibility, since each forum is used differently. Some are fee-based only without a free trial, some are fee-based with a free trial period and some a free to read, but posting costs something (a one year membership) and I am planning in the future to enable specific features within a forum only for paying members, others not

So how flexible is amember in addressing all these different tasks?

    hello snoopy5,

I had the same concerns before buying amember pro, i use Invision Power board (2.1.6) and i wanted to have a free membership area where anyone can register and view the forum, and i also wanted a a members section which will not be available to the public but upon payment they will be automatically upgraded and be able to access the private section.

I Must say that i am so Happy how things have worked out for me, all i had to do is make a 'customer' group with suitable permissions and amember did the rest for me, and when their membership expires, so does the ability to view the customer forum.

I am Using IPB by the way, not Vbulletin, but it should work well with Vbulletin, If you have any troubles then you should contact Alex.

    In Brief:

You should be able to do all these tasks by creating new member groups and adjusting permission for each of the group on the specific forum you want.

It worked very well for me :D

    Good luck

aMember + vBulletin plugin is very flexible combination. You will assign usergroups to aMember products, and aMember will add members to your vBulletin database assigned to corresponding vBulletin usergroups. You may set diffent permissions for example for "Paid" vBulletin usergroup, other rights for "Members" usergroup (which registered for free), and other rights for "Guests". So you have full freedom here.
