I have a non-profit association which collects memberships which should be valid for calendar year (Jan. 1st - Dec. 31st) regardless of when the member registers. I am having a problem where when one someone registers during the year, Amember automatically assigns its own Membership period from the date of registration. Unfortunately, I have already used Amemebr to collect almost 30 members before I realized Amember doesn't supoort this common feature. Is there an add-on available that I can install that would take care of this requirement. If not, how soon can someone prepare this cutomization for me? Pls respond.

Hi propaddles, I run aMember enabled membership systems on behalf of non-profit organisations. One organisation has the same policy with membership running from 1st Jan to 31st Dec each calendar year. Alex sorted out a customisation to aMember (at a small cost) that works beautifully to meet this need.

The outcome is that if a member signs up today for a '2006' membership, their membership period runs from 22nd Feb to 31st Dec. If they signed up today for a '2007' membership, it would appear in their subscriptions list as a future membership.

    Two other practical thoughts:
    1. In terms of your existing members, there are so few that it should be trivial to run a SQL statement direct on the database that changes the expiry date.
    2. From a practical point of view, if a member signs up in say October, how will that be handled?

I hope this is helpful, but get in touch with Alex via the helpdesk, I'm sure he will sort you out with the necessary customisation. If I can be of help thereafter then feel free to pm me.

    Hello Ianh,

Thank you for replying. I guess you aware of the problem I have. I have held back premium services to our members since Jan 1st because I haven't had the time to update each record one by one. I was preparing myself to start that right now but if you can help me with a SQL command that can change all Dates for a particular product for all members, that would be great. I understand Alex will provide the customization I need for future memberships.

    Thanks again for your help,

    propaddles
