    Hello Everyone!

I am in the process of re-evaluating my next web project. The first plan was to build a custom public website, use Wordpress for the blog, then use aMember to sell access to the following:

    Pdf downloads
HTML Pages with frequently updated data.
    HTML pages with Video reviews
Custom user pages, (basically a place where people can manage their user information)

The site is for an online coaching venture, sports related. I have built many php/mysql websites, but now I am considering going the pre-packaged route.
Drupal+aMember is currently on the short list.

My question is... if you were going to start a membership website with only 1 tier of access with the above specs, is Drupal+aMember a good choice? If not... what else would do the job?

Also, I am trying to stay away from building custom bridges to manage sessions across different apps.

    Thanks in advance!

IMHO it's just your personal preference whether you use Drupal, Wordpress, Joomla or static HTML pages. With the corresponding plugins aMember will do it's job anyway :)

I don't have any experience with Drupal in combination with aMember but if you feal comfortable with Drupal then I don't see why you wouldn't go for that.

I do have Joomla and Wordpress connected with aMember. I prefer Wordpress above Joomla when looking at aMember connectivity. NOT because of aMember, but because of Joomla v1.5.x limited user level capability. It is doable but with a plugin that has lousy support. However I did learn that there's a promising new plugin available called noixACL - I still have to test it though...

in regards to Joomla, our plugin can work with jACL this will add ability to create more user's levels in Joomla.

Thanks for the feedback. It helped map out the plan.

Going to forge ahead with a custom solution and do some serious evaluation of Drupal+amember. Will probably purchase the plugin and install on the dev server for testing. If the custom site gets to be a drag, may move to Drupal after the site is officially launched.

Joomla sounds interesting, may check it out.

    Thanks again!

I love Drupal in combination with Amember. The integration is no issue and Drupal is very flexible. But it is a personal preference.
