We're a membership organization with a members-only section of our website. The web-services are part of a member's annual membership dues so there is no extra charge for members to use the site. Is there a way to set up aMember so that it checks a list of allowed users (paid up members) before they can sign up with the protected area? Also - as our membership list is always changing, can the system keep up with the changes to a list? Example - a member signs-up for the protected area, the system checks with the current membership list (can be a simple table in our database) and then allows the members to sign up. Two months pass and the member's membership lapses - when he/she goes to sign in the system checks the list again and tells them their membership has lapsed. The member renews, we update the membership list and the members is then allowed to enter the site. It's basically a validation question. We currently use the FP security plug in and have to update it each month. I would love to rid ourselves of this and be able to use aMember. We use vBulletin and X7 chat on the site - the integration factor would be great to use.
I can offer you another way - you will enter members and their expiration date right to aMember control panel. Once you entered right expiration date, you don't have to worry about this member anymore - he will expire automatically. If he renewed his membership, you go and add new subscription for him with new expiration date. Is it acceptable? If yes, then aMember Pro will work for you without any modifications.
