    Hi,

I am looking for a solution that would allow me to send and receive messages to and from my customers. And I would like to have that appear on their member page.

So I would be able to send a message to all of them or individually from the admin cp and they would also be able to send me a message from the member page.

And each time they would log in they would see a notification under their current subscription that they have a message from me and they could read it right there and reply from there. And when they send messages have those appear in my admin cp in an inbox or something.

Is there a plugin like that already available?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Suggest you look into a CMS system that can handle this- this site (you are viewing now) uses vbulletin. Theres messaging in that system- also check out phpbb.

Hi davidm1 and thanks for the reply.

I have invision power board forum installed and it works great. What happens though is that my membership site has many areas: tutorial section, forum etc and I see my members checking the first section more than the forums.

That's why I need a send and receive messaging feature that they will see as soon as they login to their membership in their members page. Having a plugin that would allow me to send messages to them and have those messages appear right in their face each time they log in would do wonders for retention.

I am looking at the atmail plugin and I think that what I'm looking for. But I not that technical. Forum platforms is about all I know about. :) Care to share any other info on this?

Am I looking in the right direction with this atmail plugin?

    Dan,
There is no such solution available for aMember yet as far as I know, but this is possible as customization.

    Hey Dan!

If you're using WordPress for your main site and integrate it with aMember using amProtect, what I like to do is create a member Dashboard.

This is a protected page in WordPress that you direct your members to right when they log in. You can have one Dashboard per membership level or you could have one primary one that shows what you want to each level by using the amProtect short codes for partial content protection.

So what you do is edit this page whenever you want to display a new message to your members. When they log in they can see it.

You can put anything else you want on their Dashboard as well. Links to their downloads. Their latest videos or classes. It is one centralized location where they can "consume" the content they purchased from you.

You can design it any way you want, including with links to the aMember member page for managing their account if you wish.

That takes care of you talking to them. If you want them to talk to you, you can use a WordPress plugin such as Contact Form 7 to create contact forms for each level (if you want/need) and you can install those directly on that page as well.

So that is one way that I would recommend doing it....if you're already using WordPress. It might be too much trouble to set it up just for this if you've got another system in place.

If you would be interested in a customization to put in place right on the aMember page then please contact me at Kencinnus.com. We can discuss it further and I can give you a quote for a custom project.
