Hello (Alex)! I am running a licensed copy of Amember, ver. 2.3.5 Pro on one domain. I own another license for a second domain which is installed and at version 2.4.0 Pro. My goal is to move the entire database from the first domain to the second domain, then decommission the first domain's installation. My first domain uses a database name which is not the same as the second. The first is db_amemberz and the second is db_amembers. I tried the back up restore, but that did not work. What is the recommended migration method for this situation? Do I need to use phpmyadmin instead? Any advice is appreciated. TIA Steve
It is better to use phpMyAdmin for this goal. Get database dump from domain1 and load it into database on domain2. Then run http://domain2.com/amember/admin/upgrade_db.php And it's all.
Alex: I think my problem is that both domains are on the same server. So, the username of domain1 can not be used twice. My current database is named "usera_amemberz" The database of domain2's aMember install is "userb_amembera" Unless I am doing the backup wrong, it will not load on the new domain(2). Any tips on doing the backup in PMA so just the fields are saved or how I can edit the installed DB name in the domain2 install of aMember?
Sorry, I don't understand the problem, could you just contact us via helpdesk? We will help for sure.
