I am going to be using amember to tie the membership with a photo gallery, forum, calendar, and a catalog for my bike club. This is going be a nice challenge. We could have used Joomla as many do but we wanted our own design and flow on the site. We opted for individual applications that can be hooked by aMember. One of the challenges I have at the moment is how to manage the women members of the club. Currently, they have their own page and use a spreadsheet to keep their information. I think that aMember can do this better. This brings up a few questions. 1. On the sign-up form, would it be good to capture the gender so I can do some queries against the database to give permission on pages based on gender? Does this seem like a decent approach? 2. Is it possible to allow an admin role to only have access to the women's group? I could not figure out how to do it when logged into the CP. 3. Would it be best just to get the member id and use it in another table to handle the women data. One thing they want is their photo's. I don't want to make too many changes to the amember DB. Any help or suggestions would be great. thanks!
