    Hello,

Have a member site with a little over 1000 members. I did not use manual approval originally, but now I need to do so. Problem is if I switch it on now, EVERYONE goes "inactive" and nobody can log in.

How can I switch on manual, yet keep all current members in the same state they are currently?

I looked into switching something in the DB itself but was unable to easily figure out what field contained the required value.

This is pretty urgent... thanks in advance!

    Hi vanclute,

Setup/Config > Advanced > Additional Options > Manually Approve New Members

It only takes effect for new members.

No, this is not true. It even says so right on the form:

I have verified this, as soon as I enable it, none of my members can log in anymore without being manually approved first. This is what I must avoid.

    So what do I do?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

You need a php utility that runs through the members and sets the extra data field 'is_approved' .. just so happens.....

change the db info at the top.

    Heads Up!

    Hi vanclute,

    Thanks for the heads up.

Helpdesk has is confirmed that this option:
Setup/Config > Advanced > Additional Options > Manually Approve New Members

...is set to "unapprove" all existing members as well.

Please log a helpdesk ticket - they have a script to "auto-approve" old users.

    Cheers,
    Lee
