    What are the benefits of using new_rewrite introduced in 2.19?

    What changes need to happen in the .htaccess to use it?

    It can work with any type of files and it has less restrictions.
    Use aMember Cp -> Protect Folders.

    How do I use it?

    I can't find any documentation on how to use the new rewrite method.

    I enabled it, and applied it to a directory, but I can still directly link to my file and download it from that directory.

    What am I missing? Are there instructions on how to set this up?

    I figured out the issue. I had a problem with my browser that was causing things to fail. I re-installed the browser and the problems cleared up.
