I want to create a sidebar widget or subscription area where visitors can sign up to receive free videos and updates. Needs to be wordpress compatible.

I currently use feedburner, but have just purchased amember pro.

I want to be able to capture a first name and email from any (non-paying) prospects. Is there already something available that I do not know about?

I am sure I am not the first to ask this, but I cannot find any information on such a solution.

You can use amember to do this, you would have amember create the username and password for them (also need to enter first and last name), otherwise a 3rd party mail system like aweber would work.

yes, but how do you create the widget? I have the wordpress plugin that allows me a login/pass widget on my website, but I want a subscription widget that requires a first name and email.

There would be no signup page or anything, just enter your name and email and you are good to go.

It is the same process every blog uses with rss. Difference is, you would be tracked in amember rather than freedburner.

You can paste in html in a "text" widget.
"View source" of the amember signup page, and paste in the needed parts of the form.

Ok, great. I am not a code writer, but I think I may be able to figure this out.

I understand just enough to hurt myself.
