Hi all, I waited to get my free 24hr install of aMember + WP Plugin. 24hrs passed and I heard nothing but do see the open ticket in the Ticket History. So I decided to give installing a whirl myself! Uploaded the amember directory, step 1 went through fine but when submitting step 2 I get an error: Cannot connect to mysql (Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)) I've checked my Wordpress Blog info and made sure things match and have tried various permission on the data directory etc. Even logged into Media Temple CP and used the DB name in there... oh and tried using another Table Prefix... Any ideas? or I'll just have to wait for support to install it when they get a chance.. Cheers, Jake
Have you set up mysql database? You need to do this, then creare a user, username & password, and link that user to database. Now in aMember enter the username, password and database name (remember database name might has 'something_' before the database name) then try it.
yeah DB was setup. CGIC got back to me and did the install... but now contact has slowed up again. My problem now is that the plug-in required to set levels in posts for the WP Plugin is no longer available! I'm asking on the forums if someone could email me a copy otherwise I wont be able to use the system. I have been trying to use Post Levels plug-in but had no joy. Thanks for the reply though, Cheers
