My previous host shutdown without giving me any warnings so I had to re-install amember.

Before on my other host I had access to the protected folders ( zipped cartoon panels ). Once people entered their user name and password it went to my protected folder and then there would be a directory of downloads that they had access to.

So now, I am with GoDaddy and they are hosting my site. I have reinstalled Amember and that went fine, and have configured my settings in the Control Panel and protected the correct folders that contain my files, but when I use the user name and password of a member that I have setup to access the protected folder I no longer get a directory of my downloads, but I get GoDaddy's 404 error page. I called GoDaddy and they said that they had nothing keeping me from accessing those files.:(

I did try putting an index.htm file in the protected directory but it just wanted to pull that page up.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,
If you get 404 error, this means that file does not exists on the server.
Are you sure that protected folder structure was not changed and that you uploaded all files?
Also, try tpo remove protection from folder and test again. Do you get the same 404 error?

All content has been uploaded, and i went through the "protect folder" steps again for the two folders, and still get the 404 error. Here is a snapshot of my amember "protect folder" area. I noticed that the Product URL and the protected folder are different....
not sure what is going on.

    I submitted a ticket.

    Solution

Thanks Andrey for the help. For those who have the same problem..... the problem was that there was copy that needed to be added to my "htaccess" file in my protected folder. By adding "Options +Indexes" copy at the top of the file allowed access to my folder.
