We just installed and are in the process of configuring amember. Here's what we'd like to do: From our WordPress homepage link to the sign up form (easy, I can do that). On the sign up form offer three things: - free registration (to simply get a username and password, which will allow folks to comment on blog articles) - Yearly membership (for a fee, this works now) - Lifetime membership (for a fee, this works now) For the free registration I can set up a product/subscription that costs $0, but then when the user confirms his email address he'll be taken to the payment screen, when in fact no payment needs to be entered. However, we'd still like to ask this free registration user his name, etc. Suggestions?
When they get to that payment screen what does it ask for? If you turn off the email verification in aMember it will allow your free subscriber to fill out the signup form and immediately add him since it is free. I've never tried it where you have verification on and then go to a free product, but in my experience a free product just passes right through the payment screen. When you go to aMember CP -> Setup/Configuration -> Plugins and look under the payment plugins is the checkbox next to "Free" checked? If that plugin is turned on and you're not specifying the payment system for each product (and have the free set to your paid type) then I'm surprised it is stopping them.
