I have uploaded aMember into the 2nd domain and started the install process. Managed to get to Step3 of 4 where it crashes with this error message:

Cannot select database 'xxxx' (Access denied for user 'xxxxxx'@'localhost' to database 'xxxx')

I don't understand why it cannot connect to the db I created.

I want to know if I need to install aMember into the root of the main domain or into the folder for the 2nd domain.

The support team at my host have not responded so decided to ask you experts here :)

first, aMember is licensed on a per domain basis so unless you are installing on a subdomain or have purchased a second license for your 2nd domain you will have problems.

second, the error is suggesting that the information you are putting in for your userid, password and database is not correct or that the ID you have selected does not have permissions to access the db.

Are you sure about the userid? some hosts require that you append your account name to the beginning of the database name or database username (who is your host?)
