I've created free accounts for all my users. I'm noticing in the "Payments" section that some of them are getting an additional entry for status which says "future" - I'm not sure what this is. # Change Time Member Product Period Payment System Receipt # Amount Paid Status 64652 12/07/2010 17:16:26 cringlehoa Members LIFETIME - LIFETIME free 74.160.111.11 0.00 YES Future Edit Del 64667 12/08/2010 11:21:29 postapet Members LIFETIME - LIFETIME free 174.59.11.111 0.00 YES Future Edit Del 64718 12/10/2010 23:38:43 dfmegaon Members 12/11/2010 - LIFETIME free 0.00 NO Not-Paid Edit Del --------------- Here is another user - lielie2010. Two payments made. One is not paid and the other is paid. This user is an active user but I don't know why they have two payment entries about 20 minutes apart. # Change Time Member Product Period Payment System Receipt # Amount Paid Status 64673 12/08/2010 14:35:29 avondaaa Members 12/08/2010 - LIFETIME free 69.171.111.11 0.00 YES Active Edit Del 64674 12/08/2010 15:02:37 lielie2010 Members 12/08/2010 - LIFETIME free 41.217.111.11 0.00 YES Active Edit Del 64675 12/08/2010 14:39:38 lielie2010 Members 12/08/2010 - LIFETIME free 0.00 NO Not-Paid Edit Del 64676 12/08/2010 15:53:45 mandle_2 Members 12/08/2010 - LIFETIME free 0.00 NO Not-Paid Edit Del I don't know if there is a suppression issue of users trying to refresh the screen or something else.
Future payment typically occurs in one of three cases: 1) you manually add a payment and set the start date to a date in the future 2) when you add a second payment for a product that already has an existing subscription 3) when you share renewal groups across multiple products. See the manual here for more info: http://manual.amember.com/Product_Renewal_Group_Explained) As far as why 2 payments are showing up. A page refresh would not add a second payment record (even for free payments).. I typically see double payment records for a user where one is pending and one is active in situations where a user starts registration, but stops mid way (before paying, etc).. in your workflow, what happens immediately following the profile save during sign up? (ie. terms and conditions, upsell, etc)..
Thanks for the answer but none of this makes any sense. I only have one membership - free. I didn't add anything. One day I took a look and there it was. But what does "future" mean? The only thing I can think of is that I imported users and set the expiration date for 2025 since that's 15 years for now. I notice sometimes that the new users have a date of 2037 I think, not sure. Still, it doesn't add up why these two users of all had this suddenly appear. Weird.
The problem is renewal groups. Set it to -1 for your free product. By default aMember add second subscription to the same product after first one. This can be overrided by renewal_group =-1 setting. Second subscription always will be added with "today" as begin date
I too am having this problem and changing the renewal group to -1 does not help !! Subscription expired yesterday and our modified swreg plugin (modified by amember team) has automatically added new recuring order, so this is how it looks : Subscription 1 02/04/2011 - 03/04/2011 Credit Card T1793574401 $19.95 YES Future Subscription 1 12/04/2010 - 01/03/2011 Credit Card T1793467001 $19.95 YES Expired New subscription should have started from 01/04/2011 NOT 02/04/2011, how do i fix this ? Tried -1 as a renewal group - did not work ( we only have 1 product, if that matters?)
