    Hi,

I just purchased A-Member Pro and I have a pretty good game plan but I am double checking myself.

I want to allow people access to an online E-Magazine that has 1 year subscriptions and also subscriptions for 1 issue. I dont expect to have more than 100-200 new members at first paying a small 12.95 fee through credit card or paypal. In the long run I expect many less per month to sign up. We currently use the manual and crude paypal method and crude website security which works okay but is alot of manual work. I assume I will continue offering paypal as ONE option for the customer and it will interface with AMember. That seems supported and not an issue.

My question is about the best payment system that I can use. I have scoped out Verisign and a 20.00 per month plan that includes 500 transactions and 10 cents each for every one over that. I dont expect to ever go over that. They also hook me up with a merchant account to accept cards. I forgot but I think those range from 25-50 a month which is alot of money for us since we are NOT making any money and paying for SO many things trying to get off the ground. We are being nickeled and dimed to DEATH.

So my hope is to gain some wisdom from other customers. Is there a payment system and merchant account, shopping cart combination out there that might be better than what I have chosen? I am only working from the supported list I see on the Amember website.

    Any good advice?

    Thanks very much,
    LB

I believe PayPal is quite enough, why not?

Many customers complain that they do not like Paypal. They also have to sign up and other things to pay evidentally. Even when they are just using a credit card. It seems on the other hand many people do not mind pulling out a credit card.

Then I can recommend only 2checkout.com, but be careful because it doesn't allow to implement automatic handling of recurring transactions. You will have to manually handle cancellations and rebilling failures.
