I am having a few issues and need some advice. I purchase amember and use paypal for my payments. I use paypal and credit cards through paypal merchant "buy now" buttons. We wanted to use the same functionality but it seems as though when a member would click thorugh the payment option for amember, they only get the paypal payment option and not the credit card page option as well...as my customers are used to. I am looking to have paypal give my users the option to pay with credit card as well as the paypa l"buy now" buttons give. So, the page they are transferred to in amember now give just paypal as payment and I need to have the other page come up with the crdit card entry fields and apypal as the "buy now" buttons normally generate. Any idea how to do this? is it possible? Thanks, SS
Thanks, reading through many of the other posts I think I need to test my "paypal" option for amember...but believe this is not possible to do with recurring payments...can anyone confirm this? So Paypal pro plans cannot handle recurring, correct? Thanks, Stephen
Stephen, 1) When user is redirected to paypal for NON-RECURRING payment, he has option to create account and pay OR just pay with credit card. Check this carefully. 2) It is possible to test using PayPal Sandbox, but it is not easy to setup. It is easier to ask someone from your friends to subscribe, then refund money.
So, then, if my payments are set for recurring, then the member must sign up for a Paypal account? Thanks!
Ok. Now I have changed my setting to "NO" for recurring payment. I still do not get the dialog at Paypal that offers the members to use their Paypal account OR pay by credit card if they don't have a Paypal account. What am I missing? I saw another post saying to use the Paypal PRO plugin - so I tried chosing it, but still do not get the right option after a user completes the info at the sign-up page http://www.tripswithkidz.com/amember/signup.php
I now see the info at http://www.amember.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2611&highlight=paypal credit cards and it's making my head spin. Am I going to have to "warn" users that if they have a Paypal account - and therefore probably a paypal cookie - then they'll have to delete the cookie to be able to get the option to pay by credit card?
WHY WHY should you force them to re-enter credit card details if they are already PayPal users and his card already stored in their PayPal account?? All they need to do is to enter paypal account password, then payment will take seconds. In ANY case, it is all inside PayPal, it is all PayPal policy and to change this behaviour you should contact PayPal. I'm serious. There is nothing in aMember that could force this behaviour.
I don't want to force them to do anything. I just want the option to pay by paypal OR separately by credit card. Unfortunately, I've also learned that paypal puts a cookie on your computer even just visiting the site. ...so if you have the cookie, you don't get the option of entering a credit card. I'm thinking that I can't be the only one who's run into this. Anyone out there know how I can tweak Paypal so that they always get the option whether they have a paypal account or not??? thank you!
