    Hi everyone,

Just need some clarification on the different PayPal setups for merchants. They have "PayFlow Pro" and "PayFlow Link" (https://merchant.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/payment_gateway) - but I do not see support for it in the payment systems supported by aMember Pro page .. (either denying or acknowledging)

It's attractive because of the price point, instead of 2.5% + .30 (like the payments pro), you pay a monthly recurring fee and get 500-1000 transactions.

So just a few questions, because I'm not sure after reading this: http://www.amember.com/p/main/paysystems/ (only saw "PayPal" and "PayPal Website Payments Pro")

    1) Can aMember support it with an existing plugin?
    2) Does it support recurring billing?
    3) Has anyone had any experience with Link or Flow ?

    Thanks

    StockGuy22,

These two products are called gateway services. They are used to "move" the money from your site to your merchant account. Their fee does not include the merchant fee charged by your bank/credit card companies. The merchant fee could be close to another 2% or more. Unless you move a lot of money and perform a lot of transactions, using an all inclusive service like PayPal, PayPal Pro, or Google Checkout will likely be cheaper.

These services also require that you have an official merchant account which means you must establish a bona fide business and have a commercial bank account. Most of the all inclusive solutions will allow you to transfer funds to a personal checking account.

I just recently made a presentation on setting up a membership style website and it covers this in a little more detail. Here is the handout from that presentation.
