I know google is full of "Paypal alternatives" ads but I was hoping to get some impartial advice from this forum. I've used Paypal's recurring payment feature for a couple of years. I have about 100 monthly subscribers now. I'm grateful to Paypal that it helped me get my business off the ground. But I think now they stand in the way. I'd like to be able to enter and update the customer's credit card info myself. With Paypal I get large number of cancellations of their subscription payments just because a CC nears the expiration date. They have to remember their paypal password, login to the Paypal site, update their CC info and then come back to my site and subscribe again. I'd like to be able to call/e-mail the customer and ask for the new expiration date and enter it myself. Much easier. Why have them jump through hoops or get confrontational with them for being late? I've been looking for alternatives the last couple days. Not intersted in PayPal clones like Clickbank and 2checkout. I need to get a real merchant account with authorizenet or Verisign PayflowPro or??? with recurring payment abilities. I am selling services but not p0rn. I am in the US and have good credit. I'd rather not pay for SSL certificate and i'd rather not store CCs on my own site. I guess I'm looking for a remotely hosted solution on a secure server with costs similar Paypal's. The closest I found was http://www.echo-inc.com $99 set up, 2-2.5%, $0.3 per transaction, $19/mo ($0 if there is no activity), no gateway or other fees, 5 free chargebacks a month. Their development tools are here: https://wwws.echo-inc.com/ISPGuide-Menu.asp This is not an ad. I'm open to suggestions. TIA Marino
