Paypal - Where to look???

I have got some wierd anomolies and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong.

Scenario:
Subscribe from website using aMember. Subscription for daily fee is completed via paypal and then redirected back to aMember. That part appears to be good.
Within Paypal on the client side, the subscription is listed.
On the billing side, we see the subscribed client.

After confirmation email, we get access to our protected area...so that is working too

We have monitored for 2 days and the following problems are noticed.
1. Paypal is not paying the subscription from client on a daily basis. I have looked at the logs and see nothing out of the ordinary

2. We are not receiving any funds in Paypal on the billing side. The logs are not showing anything

3. Biggest issue: Funds are not transferred but aMember is showing the account as active. aMember also shows the initial payment and nothing further. So, 1 or 2 days after no payment, aMember is still allowing the account access and showing it active.
I am thinking the system should show it as suspended since there is no payment. The aMember logs are not showing anything either and we see no attempt to recur or validate the subscription is still good. Should it?
