Paysystems and 2Checkout seem to often come up as the "best" solution for 3rd party billing. I would have to strongly disagree. Paysystems does not process an order in real time (it often takes more than an hour to receive confirmation of order). Further more, it does not allow the use of free trials. So I moved on to 2Checkout which I found to be unacceptable as well. No phone technical support for one. Additionally, the documentation is not yet finished for the new interface. Why would you release a product before documentation is finished? Very frustrating. At any rate, 2Checkout no longer works with aMember. If you are currently using 2Checkout, you will be moved to the new system eventually.. rendering your payment solution useless. Just a heads up. Can anyone recommend a payment solution that provides real time payment processing, free trial and integrates well with aMember. At this point, cost is becoming less of a concern as I have spent entirely too much time on this. Any help is much appreciated.

Authorize.net and I think linkpoint.com require you have a merchant account whereas Paypal doesnt.

However, many of our clients cannot get their credit card charged through Paypal (eg Columbia, Finland, Lebanon).

So I am looking for a company that doesnt require a merchant account, but does allow many countries to use their credit cards.

Can Linkpoint or Authorize.net handle recurring payments?

I know PayPal can handle recurring payments. However, there seems to be some negative perception of PayPal. I haven't personally had any bad experience with them, but I haven't used them for a large-scale membership yet. Does anyone else have an opinion on how PayPal is viewed by the public?

    paypal is ok

Our business has just begun using paypal and for countries it supports, it works fine; they have US tollfree friendly and helpful tech support without much waiting.

Ive been using it personally (in US) for the past year for many things and there is never a problem.

    Hope this helps

Where is the plug-in for charge.com?

    Alex,

I have been setting up a site which uses aMember. I have is set up using 2checkout and plan to go live with transactions on May 1st. Now I see the 2checkout is changing things with no notice. I am seriously thinking about changing cc processors before going live. After I go live I do not need this kind of thing going on!

I took a look at charge.com that you recommended in this thread. I all looks good. I don't see it listed as a supported processor on the web page. I also do not see a processor plugin that matches up. Which processor plug-in do I use?

    Thanks for the help!

Charge.com looked great until you see the $40/month charge plus transaction fees. I said that cost was becoming less of a concern, but that is difficult to swallow. I guess paypal now accepts credit cards w/out requiring an account, but they don't allow this with recurring payment. I've come to the conclusion that there are no acceptable 3rd party payment processors available, but if someone can prove me wrong, you've got yourself free membership to my site. Heck, at this point I'm ready to make it free for everyone!

They provide merchant account and connection to LinkPoint. It is very reputable and serious company,
  13. PaySystems does support free trials according to their FAQ. See HERE!

Not when used with aMember.. a Paysystems Pro account is required for integration with aMember and the free trial does not work with Pro account.

Comparing Costs of 3rd Party Processors

There's a new tool on the web called the Maculator that allows you to compare costs between all the 3rd Party Processors mentioned in this thread and many more. The Maculator is located at www.mgoldmine.com.

Although costs aren't everything to consider, it's important to know how much you're actually going to pay for the services you receive. The costs for many services vary based on the monthly sales you process. The Maculator allows you to enter the expected monthly sales to get a good estimate. You can select any two providers on the large list and compare the costs for the same montly sales amounts.

I believe it's important to do good research before deciding on which processor to use. The Maculator also allows you to also compare against regular Merchant Accounts. This eliminates the confusion over figuring out whether a Merchant Account is really more expensive based on your expected sales volume.

I am doing the research on this topic and would invite anyone to let me know if there's a 3rd Party Processor that we left out of the Maculator list. I have a few more that I will add in the next few days.

Best of luck on your choice of processors!

I'm thinking of giving 2Checkout another try. Is anyone using aMember with the new 2Checkout interface with success?
