I am currently using version 3.09. I have a few customers with pending payment. What does that mean? Does that mean they paid with a check and the check has not cleared yet? I'm using papal_r do need to input my papal IPN URL is that was is causing the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Did you set up your IPN in paypal? Without it, amember will not receive notifications of payments. David
So pending essentially means that they started the payment process but either: a) didn't finish (abandoned) b) or the system didn't think they finished (missing IPN, check not cleared, etc) Check PayPal, is there a payment from them that has cleared, then probably the IPN.
IPN looks like it's ok but still getting new customers with pending payments..don't understand why..I'm starting to get a little frustrated..anybody else I have any suggestions. In addition I also tested the process with a test user and paid for a membership from anther paypal account that I have and everything worked fine...I'm not sure why these customers I having this issue.
Hello, Are you seeing any errors being logged to the Error/Debug log that aMember maintains? This is the first place to look. It will definitely let you know if your website and in particular that aMember is seeing the IPN notification from PayPal. Jimmy
Yes in the log I see that payment that made with my test user, and it was handled successfully..no other error logs.
Hi there, I feel you pain lol !!! I think a lot of people must just change their mind. I posted similar in the forums for advice on conversion. It's might not be a settings problem. I get more pending than I do paid. Maybe some get confused with validation link emails and comlpleting the payment page.
Yes very frustrating indeed I could be a lot richer if those pending payments did actually go thru. I have even disabled the verification emails, but still getting pending payments. It's so hard to believe that so many people all of the sudden change their mind. Alex can you comment on this?
One thing Ive witnessed with paypal, is if a subscriber pays with an eCheck, a "successful" IPN call may take up to 10 days to clear. I dont know if Paypal sends a "pending" IPN call immediately, but that info should be available in the PP IPN docs. I know years ago Paypal payments would only do a callback if that vague "continue" button, hidden down in the lower right side of the PP confirmation page was clicked by the subscriber after completing the purchase. If they simply navigated away from the page without clicking that button, Paypal never sent the info back to your server. I think that was the reason behind Paypal instituting the IPN system. I'm just getting back into this, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
What is the actual bailout rate you are experiencing? Is it a discrete purchase or a recurring payment? What price range is your product in?
Hi, the problem I am having is if a person pays by echeck at paypal, the ipn works fine in recieving the payment as pending, but amember still activates the account. Everything else with paypal works fine.
