would you care to share the magic you gave to cgi-central for the fix? it was not implemented into the phplist plugin and I am hard broke. I need a solid fix asap. thanks!
I'm trying to get the demo version of aMember to work and that file is encrypted so it's not possible to edit it.
Here's what I did... When you do the default install of PHPLIST the table prefixs are different for the user tables.. From the phplist config file # if you want a prefixto all your tables, specify it here, $table_prefix = "phplist_"; # if you want to use a different prefix to user tables, specify it here. # read README.usertables for more information > $usertable_prefix = "phplist_user_"; My fix: I manually removed the original reference to phplist in the amember DB config tables. Then I changed the phplist config so it didn't use the two prefixes. Then I ran the phplist db setup again from the phplist setup menu to reinstall the phplist db. This wipes out all of your data in phplist and resets the table names. I then went back into amember and setup the plugin again.
As of 9/7/07, the plugin is still giving the table error. The solution? Upload the phplist to your server, but don't activate the list in amemer CP. Instead, send a ticket to amember support and have them activate and configure in your amember CP for you to save headaches. They did this for me at no charge. It does mean you have to wait a good 24 hours before you see it done and ready to use. When it is good and done, go back to amember CP and set your products up to whatever lists you have set up in phplists. When oh when is someone going to open a website that will offer to do setups, configs and other tasks needed for amember owners. I would gladly hire someone to do many of the amember plugin setups for me without having to go to rentacoder, etc. There is the website, modern-help.com that does this for modernbill. Why has no one ever thought of doing this for amember? Anyway, thanks to amember support but I gotta tell you, there should be documentation on how to use the plugin in conjunction with phplist as well.
I have a plugin to do the throttling look at eMail Queue easier than installing phpList if you don't need its extra widgets. Larry
