This was asked before, but was in the closed archives.... Have you thought any more on this? The NSN_Groups add-on for phpnuke allows for the creation of several "groups" inside of phpnuke. A user may be in all of a few of those groups. I would like to see the phpNuke plugin modified to support this, or another plugin, similar to the phpNuke that would do this.... So that if a subscription expires for a specific group, the user is removed from that group, but not necessarily all groups. In this way, a basic membership can be maintained and access to certain areas of the site can be made in a renewable for mat of a per instance format (depending on what is being given access to) based entirely on group membership - which an amember plugin could set... IE.: Basic Access - Free, includes phpnuke membership Advanced Access - 10.00/year, add to Advanced Group in phpnuke Other - 20.00/year, add user to other group in phpnuke ( maybe some hidden features within phpnuke that are turned off for most users... etc.. etc... I think Alex has already done something similar to this in the Hivemail plugin. I would probably like to modify the users group in hivemail in conjunction to this - so that a single product offering would upgrade both access to the phpnuke site and hivemail at the same time, also other plugins that may become available... Is there any documentation on the plugins - so that endusers could develop their own plugins, or modify what we have already purchased to fit some of these needs? Personally, I do not considermyself to be that proficient in PHP and will likely rely on Alex to develop these ideas for me.... Eric
Eric, PHPNUKE-NSN plugin will be implemented very soon, possible tomorrow. We currently working on new docs, and it will include topic about new plugins and script customization. Unfortunately, it is not easy for me to write docs, so I had to hire docs writer, and it will be not as quick as I would want.
It's only been a few weeks since he announced "doc's".. If you read through the well documented code you can vizualize the process. Are you experiencing a problem? or you just want to play & tweak? Joe - Houston, TX
I am actually using the Your_Account NSN mods, and NSN_Groups... I took the old phpnuke plug in an dhand applied the changes, but the old plugin doesn't address groups, which I understand Alex is working on, and the current plugin looks to be made for phpnuke 6.0 and earlier, since there are DB changes in the 6.5 version, which I am using.. So, after applying the changes from the diff file, I get an error page because the new page cannot be created due to the changes in the database.. I tried going to amember directly to try adding a user, and that is what identified the DB change problem - like uname is changed to username, etc... I am patiently awaiting the updates... but perhaps I should go ahead and apply the latest releases for these NSN scripts to my nuke package, and then have Alex customize the script for me, and others... If there was enough interest, money talks with regards to priority... I am sure his regular job is demanding, I know mine is... Eric
Just following up, has the plugin for nuke been completed? Im sitting here itching to purchase the script just waiting on that plugin to be announced.
Please please can someone point me towards the old phpnuke 6.0 module for amember pro. I'm only running nuke 6.0 and I'm not interested in levels. thanks in advance.
Please please can someone point me towards the old phpnuke 6.0 module for amember pro. I'm only running nuke 6.0 and I'm not interested in levels. thanks in advance. [/quote] Ok from what I understand we use the CMS script and amember together and this will allow us to run it as a phpnuke module. However, I've tried getting CMS to work and am having no luck whatsoever. V.frustrating, as a result I'm thinking of buying ******.***'s solution which includes a specific phpnuke module and integration seems a lot easier. Note from alex@cgi-central.net: I got several clients who moved to aMember from mentioned solution. EVERYBODY said that aMember is more easy to use. I may ask them to post their mention into this forum. Take it easy - what you read on that site is just good written advertising, but inside is software "which has more bug than Windows" (said by my client, who tried it)
Actually, there are specific instructions for impelenting the plugin with the plugin... It is NOT a phpnuke module... You have to patch the index.php in the Your_Account module... This is described in the instructions... Also, this module does not work with phpnuke 6.5... Alex is currently working on that problem and implementing the NSN_Groups with it to allow us to have better control.. The site you mentioned does not explain very well whether they support this feature or anything like it... It is very likely that they will have only the standard groups in phpnuke... Also, they don't mention what version of phpnuke they support... probably 6.0 or less... There were database changes in 6.5 and changes inthe way the database is addressed... This has compounded the probles... I think Alex would have had it done 2 weeks ago, but he was having some difficulty in acquiring the NSN_Groups module to work with... He has it now and is working through it.. Hopefully we'll here something soon... Eric
ok thanks for your reply, makes things slightly clearer. So let me get this straight, I can run amember pro that I've already paid for without Alex's new plugin for php nuke as I'm on version 6.0 and the database structure is unchanged. What I'm confused about is how the amember pro database knows which members have paid and which haven't of those in the php nuke database. Are there clear instructions on how to integrate amember pro with php nuke 6.0, if so, can someone point me towards the exact coding mods that are needed. tks in advance, and sorry to be a pain.
First, guys, please sorry for delay with this phpNuke plugin - I start to hate this application I promise to complete it this weekend (or I will bury this idea at all if it is impossible). I don't what others provide exactly, but I implemented in my previous plugin everything that phpNuke allow. It doesn't support multiple levels of access, guys! I'm looking forward to discover and integrate with NSN_Groups plugin - seems IT really does add support for multiple levels.
Take care in it's capabilities... Not only can phpnuke use NSN_Groups for multiple levels... But, a user can be a member of multiple groups.... allowing for very granular access to different parts of the site... Member 1 is part of group 1,2,3 Member 2 is part of group 1,3,4 Member 1,2 can access sections allowed for groups 1,3 Member 1 can also access sections allowed for group 2, but not group 4 Member 2 can also access sections allowed for group 4, but not group 2 So there is great flexibity in the NSN_Groups module and much that amember could do in that realm... Such as having membership levels of access, plus additional access for other sections that may be specific for that user or a "club" he/she is a member of... etc.. Let your imagination run wild... Mine is.. Eric/Netzarim
Sure, I want implement it in this way. Else my plugin may not be considered usable. (The reason why I stop sales).
The phpNuke plugin is completed and we start beta-testing of this plugin. To use this plugin, you will have to upgrade to latest version of aMember Pro - 1.9.3RC12 Files to be changed: all aMember files, except user-side templates After replacing files, run script: http://yoursite.com/amember/admin/upgrade_db.php Then install new phpNuke plugin, read attached readme and use it! Requirements: phpNuke 6.5, NSN_Groups 650_130 (the plugin will not work without NSN_Groups). I would be glade to hear about any problems with plugin and help to resolve it. Email your bug reports to support@cgi-central.net. Thanks for patience!
a man of his word I will be sure to purchase this now! Thanks for keeping us updated and for working with the phpnuke community, along with our ever so much questions.
The plugin does a great job! Also the support alone I got after purchasing amember was just awsome especially for the cost!! Very much worth it in my eye's. Even with the plugin beta, Which after alex getting emails on extra functionality from the plugin (import all nuke members) etc.. Worth the cash guys!! Thanks!
