I downloaded the demo to check out amember. I tried installing it at godaddy on a test site. I get the error "requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so" so I am guessing if I have to install a binary I am not going to be able to do that with them.

Is there any alternative to installing the ioncube? What providers already have it installed?

I have a hostgator account and a bluehost account as well. Do wither of them have the ioncube pre-installed?

nevermind, I realized i uploaded the ioncube version even after I found out I needed the zend version.

It is still erroring out saying I did not upload in binary mode and I am sure that I did but I am re-uploading now.

ok, I am still getting this error and I have uploaded twice with 2 different FTP clients both in binary mode. Any suggestions?

File [/amember/admin/index.php] has been uploaded in ASCII (text) FTP transfer mode and is broken.
Please re-upload file in BINARY mode.

If you have cpanel file explorer access or SSH access you could upload the zip file and unzip directly on the server.

If you don't have either of the above, I suggest http://extplorer.sourceforge.net/

this is on a godaddy hosting account (for now at least) so I am not sure what access I have, but I will see if I can get shell access and if not try your other suggestion. Thanks!

ok, I uploaded the zip and unzipped it and still have the same error:

File [.../amember/index.php] has been uploaded in ASCII (text) FTP transfer mode and is broken.
Please re-upload file in BINARY mode.

I watched it inflate all of the files. Other ideas?
