    Hi,

So I am just the business owner. I never set up Amember myself, my former assistant did. That means I know nothing about the setup or how to tweak anything.

In Dec. I moved to a new hosting company & with other DBs there were some issues that I told the hosting company they had to fix since obviously it was working at the previous hoster. They did.

I completely forgot about testing Amember, b/c I don't sell many of the products that utilizes Amember.

Anyway, a client just ordered & she said she could log in, but the system was telling her she hadn't paid (which she had), so she can't access the article she paid for.

I told the hosting company there was a problem & they tried logging in & could.

I tried logging in using 3 different browsers & it kept telling me use name/p/w incorrect. I don't know if that's b/c the system was blocking me b/c of an additional IP or what, but it isn't telling me that's the reason I can't log in, it's saying wrong login details which is not true.

Now my hosting company is giving me a hard time saying if they can log in, that's all that matters, case closed.

I'm very stressed right now b/c I don't understand what the problem is (both why I myself can't log in & why she can't see her article) & my client has been waiting 3 days now for her product.

Can someone help me or is there someone on here I can hire to fix this one problem. I'm a very small business.

If someone tells me, I can tell the hosting company what to tweak to fix this.

    Thank you

Without seeing whats going on, i cant diagnose. You need to send in a tech support ticket to amember- or contact a 3rd party provider for some troubleshooting.

Have you checked your error logs in amember?
    Anything interesting in there?

So after disabling the auto unlock since sooo many people trying to log in to fix this problem & therefore the acct. was closed, I logged in & STILL can't get access to the article.

    It just says... Please login

This seems to be a problem with protection settings.
Check if user have completed and active membership and if so, check how protection was set for content that user can't access.
make sure that all necessary products are allowed to access that article/folder.

This is terrible. This entire membership area was working perfectly fine until I moved hosting companies & now they are blaming it on the software. Here's what they said....

Thank you for your reply. I was able to make some progress, but can not resolve the issue from my end. The problem is something in the code that is preventing this article from being read. I will explain my findings:

The original issue was this piece of code found in /home/elr2010/public_html/membership/plugins/protect/php_include/check.inc.php:
    --
    if (($_product_id[0] != 'ONLY_LOGIN') && !$db->check_access($l, $_product_id) && !link_check_access($l, $_link_id))
    --

The problem was that all of those conditions returned true, so you are presented with an "Access Denied" messages. Upon seeing this I performed a few test and found that if I logged into the admin panel and navigated to the "User Payments/Subscriptions" of the user "angelareed1",

    --
    https://www.escortlawreview.com/membership/admin/users.php?member_id=95&action=payments
    --

I could manually add a subscription for

"Escort Agencies - Volume 1 Issue 1 - It's Not All About What's In Writing | You MUST Also Watch What You Say!"

and then I could click the link found in the membership area. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into a wall. Upon clicking the article link, I received an infinite redirect error which led me to the decision that this is a coding issue and needs to be looked into by a developer. Here is what happens after clicking the link:

    You are linked to
    [http://escortlawreview.com/articles/EscortAgencies/Vol1Issue1_84621643271/]
    which redirects to
    [http://escortlawreview.com/membersh...icles/EscortAgencies/Vol1Issue1_84621643271/]
    which redirects to
    [http://escortlawreview.com/articles/EscortAgencies/Vol1Issue1_84621643271/]
    which redirects to
    [http://escortlawreview.com/membersh...icles/EscortAgencies/Vol1Issue1_84621643271/]
    which redirects to
    [http://escortlawreview.com/articles/EscortAgencies/Vol1Issue1_84621643271/]

It is an infinite loop that looks to be caused by and issue with the login protection script found at

    [/home/elr2010/public_html/membership/plugins/protect/new_rewrite/login.php]

    =====

To summarize, given the current software settings and the steps needed to troubleshoot this issue up until this point, it is difficult to see how this would have worked initially without changes to how this software functions. Even after manually adding a subscription to the article, it still fails even after allowing you to get past the error. This may be able to be solved by re-adding the account, but past that, there is nothing more we can do. You will need to seek the assistance of a developer or the support of the creators of this software to get this resolved.

Michelle, you mentioned that you changed servers recently?
Did you reset protection after that change? You need to go to aMember CP -> Protect Folders, remove all protected folders and setup protection again. This will take care of redirect issue.
In regards to access denied error. I need more info. I don't know articles are protected, what protection method is used, etc...
So please contact us in helpdesk, and provide ftp info, aMember CP info, login of user who have that issue, and exact url where he got an error.
I will investigate what can be wrong and fix. Also we will check and fix redirect error mentioned above.

Alex I sent you an e-mail asking for the instructions.

Also the forum here is not sending me e-mail notices when people respond to my thread.

I haven't received one, & my hosting company says there was only one sent to the server when I requested a p/w reset.

    Is something broken with VB?

    Thank you

For the forum here, you need to go to the UCP under Options and set the Default Thread Subscription Mode.

There is nothing wrong with Vb as far I as know. I got notifications without a problem. Do you use any spam filters? Is check in spam folder.
As for instructions, you need to edit htaccess files in /articles/ folder and in all subfolders and change old server path to new server path
