    Hey,

    Say I have a domain called domainx.com

With aMember I protect the folder domainx.com/members with the new_rewrite form of protection.

I want to move aMember to domainy.com but I still want to protect the folder domainx.com/members.

Can this be done? Both domains are on the same host together and domainy.com would be the addon.

    Thanks,

I believe the license stipulates one domain per. You could do something like this:

site1.domainx.com and site2.domainx.com. This would be OK.

I'd have the database on say domainy.com protecting the folder on domainx.com as well.

From what I've searched it's not a problem with the license as I still only have the one copy of aMember, see I want the members of domainy.com to be able to access a protected area on domainx.com.

Sure you can if both domains will be on the same server.
You can also use amember_remote plugin to protect files on different domains/servers.

They're on the same server, how do I use the new_rewrite form of protection then?

new_rewrite protection will not work if domains are different. You can use htpasswd protection in this situation.

Thanks, what about the remote plugin, can I use new_rewrite on a separate domain with that plugin?

Yes. but anyway single login between domains will not work. So user will have to login again when will go from one domain to another.

I understand that, I want the amember files to be on one domain but the protected area on the other domain.
