I've looked around the forum and I know I need to use Authorizenet.aim for recurring billing. This is what I have in place. Is there a way to know if everything is setup correctly and that my customers will be billed monthly? What are all the things needed in place to insure that the customers will be every month, not just the first? The reason I'm concerned is because when I first setup the site, I made an account with my credit card and it hasn't been billing it monthly. Thanks!
basically , i'd like to know if i need to turn "recurring billing" on somewhere? I don't see it in the amember admin area. Is this automatic if I'm on authorizenet AIM? Thanks
You'll need to configure your Product Page(s) in the aMem admin area (just read all the options, it's fairly intuitive). Also need to make sure your Cron Jobs are enabled without any errors. Don't use the Auth.net recurring feature on the Auth.net site. Get a test card from your CC Processor and verify things are running smoothly. It's really not too difficult, some ppl have trouble with Cron. Your host can probably help resolve anything that comes up.
121books - I know this is an old thread, but it relates to something I'm working on. Right now I'm *not* using recurring billing for anything, but I will be soon. It's an extra $20 or so a month to auth.net to have recurring billing feature turned "on" - but I see you saying *not* to use the auth.net recurring billing feature to use recurring billing in aMember... Can I ask why? Can I have recurring billing via aMember *without* turning on/paying for the recurring billing via Auth.net?
pearible From how I understand it, Amember will store credit cards on your server and POST the card for payment each month/term thus you do not need to use Authnet's recurring billing. HOWEVER, you MUST make sure that you have a dedicated server and secure cert if you are storing ccard info. Personally, I do not use the recurring billing, I use the SIM method with Authnet and Amember.
