Am I right that the affiliates option will only credit affiliates with commission if the customer has come to our site have come from an external link?

What I need is a facility where a third party (who will be registered as a member on our site) is always credited with a percentage of the price paid by customers for certain products, and is sent an e-mail with certain customer details (similar format to affiliate e-mail template) each time a customer buys one of those products. I then need a way to access entitlement to payment so I can pay them (similar to the affiliate reports the affiliate can currently view in their account)

Is this currently possible with amember?

Affiliates are paid on all items ordered in the amember system if thats how you have it set.

Can you give an example? I'm having trouble understanding your second paragraph. I dont know what you mean by "entitlement to payment".

Sorry - should have worded that better.
What I was referring to was seeing a report that shows what payment the third party is entitled to (which is irrelevant if I can set up affiliates they way I need to.

But I'm not sure that affililiates can be set up the way I need it.

Say I setup say 3 affiliates called Al, Sue, Jo, and set their commissions.
I now set up 2 products and it asks me for affiliate commission which I enter for both products.

Al is more of a 'partnership relationship' and should always get a 50% commission everytime product 1 is bought (so I set his commission to 50%).

Sue and Jo are other web site owners and they have an affiliate link to our site. They get 10% commission, (so I set their commissions to 10%), but only on product 2.

BUT how do I tell aMember that 50% of product 1 always goes to Al, and Jo and Sue only get commission on product 2.

I have not yet seen a way of allocating specific products to specific affiliates as in the product setup it only asks for what appears to be a global affiliate rate.

OK, I think what you are talking about is special commissions for regular affiliates vs. super affiliates. No, you cant do this in amembers affiliate program.

    Thanks David.

I guess that it would be possible to have such a feature added - yes? or no?

In the meantime, from your earlier reply, if I ignore Su and Jo for the time being and have Al as my only affiliate, you said that I can set it up so he 'always' gets commission on products with an affiliate percentage included in the product whether the customer came from his site or not?

How would I do that - I set him up as an affiliate and enter affiliate commission in the product? What other setting is there to ensure he always gets commission for purchases of that product irrespective of the source of the customer?
