Recurring bill feature not working

    I have sent two support requests in as this is urgent and no response yet so I'm hoping someone else can help.

    We use paypal pro for our payment provider. For the few members of ours who selected a payment plan, their second recurring payment did not process. Now I have angry customers because their credit cards weren't charged, I don't have their #'s, and they can't access the information.

    Glad to know amember works in that functionality but I thought (perhaps stupidly so) that amember automatically pinged paypal when a recurring transaction was up.

    So, has anyone else been in this predicament? Do I need to contact all my members that are on a payment plan, ask them for their credit cards again, and then manually set them up as recurring payments in PayPal? And then somehow update amember users individually that they paid and not to ping again. That sounds stupid too. :mad:

    Would like some insight.

    Are you using paypal regular or pro?
    Anything in your error log?

    If you are using pro, and you have amember product set properly (do you have recurring checked) then it should be rebilling. - same with regular.

    The other thing to check is whether you have cron enabled on your site.

    Do you use latest paypal_pro plugin? Or default included in amember PRO? Plugin was not updated yet and default pluign does not support recurring billing.
    If you use latest plugin, did you set IPN url as requested in plugin readme?

    Thanks David + powerkeys. I set it up with paypal_pro plugin and paypal plugin initially. Trial field price and recurring box were in the product and checked, filled in, etc. Cron is running.

    BUT, then I realized I don't need paypal_r plugin so I deactivated. This plugin apparently is the one that triggers the recurring fields in the products. They are not there now but when I activate it, they are. I am on 3.14 version so that could be why.

    Alex -- to answer your question, I use the default paypal_pro plugin included in amember PRO and there is no IPN url field. ah ha! How do I get the latest plugin??

    okay - i do have old plugins. paypal_r is for recurring. !! it's been so long that i've been in amember that I forgot. there is an IPN url field in this. looking for recent pro plugin.
