We have multiple subscription options for varying lengths of time. We offer discounts when a member chooses a 3 month or 6 month option rather than sticking with just the monthly option. We used the same value for the Renewal Group for each of these memberships so one is supposed begin and the other end on the same day. When someone upgrades from the montly membership to a 6 month membership they get billed on the day they add the upgrade product. The start date of the upgraded, longer-term product is being properly calculated to be the same as the expiration of the monthly subscription. However, even though they have upgraded and already paid for the 6 month subscription the current monthly subscription also gets rebilled and continues on instead of stopping the recurring billing like it's supposed to. So essentially they pay $100 for the monthly and upgrade to $500 for the 6 month. On what is supposed to be the expiration of the monthly and the beginning of the 6 month they are billed for the monthly again when they have already are not supposed to be. Furthermore, the expiration date of the monthly product is also advanced so they are literally subscribed to and paying for both the monthly and the 6 month product when it should be one OR the other. How do I get aMember to stop the recurring billing of the monthly product on its expiration date after the 6 month product begins. Thanks.
What payment plugin are you using? What have you done to cancel the prior subscription when they sign up for the new one? (the system doesnt do it on its own) David
amember does not cancel old subscriptions when user purchase new one. User have to cancel old subscription manually.
