    Hello,

Very rarely I have to issue a refund and I am hoping that there is an easier wayto do so. Since all credit card info is encrypted, I cannot log into amember and issue a refund, at least not from what I have found so far.

Currently the only way I know to refund someone is to ask them for their credit card number, then log into my merchant account, enter the credit card and reference number and issue a credit.

I don't mind doing this manually, but often people get upset when I require them to give me their credit card info again. They don't understand as they think that I have it already and many are hesistant to do it.

Is there a better way to retrieve this info without having to ask them for it again?

    Thank you!

This sounds like a merchant account issue to me.

Isn't there a transaction ID or user ID that you can use to track down, and refund the account with?

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately our merchant requires both the reference id and the credit card in order to issue a credit/refund. I can find the users reference id no problem, but I have to ask them for their credit card #.

Are you sure you need the whole card number and not just the last four digits to do the refund? That would stink!

Actually after contacting my merchant I was able to change the way I run refunds, so now I do not need the cc#, just the transaction id. Thanks to all that replied.

    Hi darkmediak,

How this refund process is working?
