Hi, I am setting up the latest version of amember on my site and have everything working, except for the automatic addition of sales tax. I have it enabled, I have it ticked in the product info and I have a global setting of 10%.... but it just wont add it to my product prices. I have even tried setting a regional tax of 10% but still no change to pricing. I have sent an email to support (about 24 hours ago) but I just remembered that responses from amember to my pre-purchase questions got blocked at my server in the spam trap. I am thinking that this may be the case again, hence my forum visit now. All help appreciated. Cheers Rusty
I just noticed this on the global tax settings page.... "You currently have tax enabled for only 0 products (you have total 8). To enable tax for remaining products (if necessary), visit aMember CP -> Manage Products -> Edit : "Add Tax"." 0 Products? I have tax enabled for all 8 :-( I hope that adds a clue to what's going on.
Rusty, Can you submit ticket and provide ammeber CP login/password/url in it? From your first message I understood that you did this already, but unfortunately I can't find it.
Ticket number was IKL-25082-748 I will submit a new one now and reference the above ticket as well as this thread.
No need to add another one because I found it now. But as I can see from ticket tax was applied right when our staff tested it, so not sure what is the problem.
Ok I see what is happening now... because there is a free trial period for the products it doesn't list any GST on the payment page... it just lists the price set for the product and a zero total while it awaits the end of the trial period. ...and at no stage, regardless of free trial period or not, does it list a sales tax inclusive price for the products on the signup page. This is a problem for us here in Australia, as we are required by law to list our prices as "sales tax inclusive". EDIT: Ok. I will get around this by using the "Custom Subscription Terms to Display" and listing the GST inc price. However, it would be nice to have the sales tax display on the payment page when there is a free trial period. Displaying the "tax exclusive" product price and a sales tax of "zero" will confuse some customers.
