    Hello. Love the aFormMail script and has been working fine for weeks! However, this week, the script will no longer send the file attachment. I do have the php configuration file set to: // Attachments
    $attachment_enabled = 1;

    Like I said, it has been working fine. There have been no changes that I know of to the server, and none to the script.

    The only change that has been made is that I use multiple instances of the script, using different php file names and using the path to each script in each html form file. Each of them have been working until this week.

    There are no error messages when processing the script, and the e-mails do get sent, just without the attachment.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help in advance.

    Sorry, we don't offer free support for free scripts.

    Make your mind up

    In aformmail.php you have this link.

    if you need assistance. <A
    HREF="http://cgi-central.net/forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=3"
    TARGET="_top"
    >Community Forum</A

    I can appreciate you not wanting to support it but to leave a link and flame anyone wanting help is counterproductive.

    Just my view point.

    Chris,
    I'm sorry - I will remove all these links.

    Suggestion

    Assuming its just the support you have withdrawn why not have an unsupported area of the forum where users can figure out issues for themselves. I really like the form script but the referrer feature just wouldn't work for me.

    I could post the problem to other php boards but they would probably not be familiar with the script.

    Yes I know some meathead will be ranting about the lack of support but what's new and we can tell them to read to disclaimer and be thankful its free to use!

    We had such a forum, but nobody answered questions, everybody just asked. ;) Until we had time to answer these questions, we answered, but now we are just unable to take time for it. Sorry.

    Fair enough

    Perhaps I will PM the other keen users and see if we can get together somewhere else so you guys don't have the meatheads queuing up.

    :cool:

    Are you OK with that. If we did want refinements doing which you didn't want to do and we credit your work is that cool.

    Well the way I see it this is a informal way to ask for support no matter what script you have and it should be answered in one way or another for all.

    Since you have a formal ticket system that works great and you have stated to get proper support please submit one why not take an hour a week and answer anyones questions here?

    I love amember and I think you are making quite a few bucks off of it so why not help out the little guy who is trying to get to know it or use it until they can afford the real pro version. After all if they never make any money out of it how can they afford the pro version? I think this support should be to making it work only

    Churchill,

    aFormMail is an email sending script. It is not related with aMember Pro at all and makes completely different things. If I can say so, it is not part of our business, it is a grant to community.

    Also, it is a very simple script. I wish to say that it has no serious bugs inside. All problems these peoples have are related ONLY with PHP settings on their servers/hostings.

    And, it is also a free script. We give it to community for free, and I'm not sure why should we also offer support for this? If it doesn't work, and user need help, there is a lot of paid formmail scripts (with support) on the market.
  10. Today, students, we will learn about the basics of software marketing and advertising.

    A free (software) product is distributed (and typically supported with a community, seeded by administrators, so users are encouraged to post their solutions as well as solutions from the admin. This creates what we call an FAQ) in order to 1. create understanding about the company who makes the product and 2. drive users to purchase the for-sale offerings.

    Those who create a product with this goal in mind should understand that if you tell a user to go get support somewhere else, they wil. And they won't buy the other software offered by said company...

    Food for thought. :)

    Thank you for your lesson. :)

    We will start dedicated site for aformmail soon and dedicated forum/faq will be created. It is wrong place to discuss it here.

    Counter point

    I love this script- it's what got me started. Thank you Alex for developing it and releasing it in the first place. This is not the wrong place to discuss it, rather the best place as an earlier person pointed out. The case will not be closed -you will forever have to waste your time and effort deleting posts....because you released a working script that does it's job EXCELLENTLY - was it your thesis?

    Don't even develop a series of faq's -make one (it'll take you 5 minutes)
    ok maybe 10....

    PHP:
    // just comment every line of the code with what it does
    before you know it other people are the experts that are wasting their precious time answering ?'s that make people interested in your other products - heck these people are YOUR market research -and they'll do it for free

    trim($v)

    :)

    OOPS i missed something i guess

    Same problem here as the one who started the thread (JMason), no attachments are being sent, while the attachment flag is set to 1.

    Everything else works fine, so it is a very good script anyway. A pity there is no support. And yes, I bought amember, even twice.....and there will also be a third one.

    If one of the other users of aformmail find out what we all do wrong with that attachments, please let me know..... i don't think i will find it myself.

    Cheers all!

    Peter

    We are working on dedicated website for aFormMail where all these questions can be discussed. This forum is wrong place for this!
    I'm sorry, but we don't offer support for free scripts here.
