Hi Alex! I have went from host to host and seems no matter who I pick, sooner or later my site sees some downtime. I'm thinking I might can cure this by having 2 hosts. However, is it possible for me to use aMember in such a way? as usual, thanks for your time! Gloria
Gloria, yes it is possible, but how will you syncronise members database. It will be real pain. I would get dedicated server and forget about host troubles. It is only $105/month (http://www.rackshack.net/)
I would be good if we can centralize the database and somehow allow different servers to accss this database (via http) to authenticat users on different servers. Im not sure if thats possible, right now i have over 7 protected servers with the same database but I run rsync to update the database on all servers ... I woul be less trouble for us of the database can be centralized and accessed by other servers for authentication purpose.
There must be another thing - it must be PUSH from main server to slave servers to update database. If your server will ask main server for authorize each HTTP access, it will be most slow thing I ever can imagine! Really there is a lot of things to do. I would recommend to get dedicated server and it will be easier solution. If you host 7 servers, it would be even cheaper for you to use dedicated from Rackshack.net ($100/month).
