Is it possible to have the license recognize hostgator.com as the Secure Root URL and keep my normal Root URL as-is?

I'm trying to setup google checkout and found amember gives an error saying invalid license because I tried using hostgator.com as the Secure Root URL. The main root url has not changed at all.

This is an addon domain at hostgator, so i've used their instructions at http://support.hostgator.com/articl...s/shared-ssl-for-addon-domains-and-subdomains to figure how to make ssl work on this addon account. Works fine in browser for other stuff. Just not in amember, because of the licensing :(

My guess is I'm going to have no choice but to buy a second, separate ssl certificate for this addon domain(?). But would love to hear there's a work around that's not gonna cost me another $50 to $249 per year, as some places I just looked at charge for ssl.

    thx
