Sending automatic 'welcome' emails

I just want to be certain this is the case...

I have a subscription with many members. I want to now add a welcome and follow-up email 7 days after a new member joins.

If I go into Email Settings > Send Automatic Emails and create a new email, will this ONLY send to new members joining from this day forward - opposed to sending out to all previous users who are already members?

Yes, unless they are hittin day 7, they wont get the email. So past days 7, no day 7 email.
