Separate "modify Profile" Link?

I'm a recent purchaser of amember pro and I love it already!!! (Especially after about 5 weeks installing and rejecting dozens of membership scripts!).
One question about customisation: I have put links on my home page for signups and logins but I would also like to have a link to allow members to change their profiles. I have tried linking directly to profile.php. This requires the user to login, but if that user only has 1 product they are automatically redirected to the protected area (which is what I usually want to happen), without the chance to modify profile.
I do normally want users to be redirected where possible, but is there some way I can have a separate "modify profile" link on the home page where people can change details without redirection cutting out the process?
    Thanks
    Colin

Great product I agree..... in a class of its own !

About your profile link. If you provide a link to www.yourite.com/amemberpro/profile.php
The user will go straight there via the login.php and they can change there profile then and save.

They have to go to login.php first for obvious reasons.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Pilot. That did the trick nicely. Amember Pro really is amazingly configurable! If only I'd found it a few weeks ago, I'd have saved myself a lot of time and a bit of money too! Thanks again. :D

The question I keep asking myself is why did'nt I go to Amemberpro first! It would be useful to Alex to find out why. Looking back it was an obvious choice.

I do'nt give up easily, and I wasted 6 weeks on another (nightmare) account software. untold grief!

The open forum should of given amemberpro away as the better product, all the others you have to buy before you can get into the members forum.

I am not trying to sell this, but this is the third program I've purchased and installed, and can't stop singing its praises, mainly through relief that I found what I was looking for.

Well, Pilot, my experience was very similar to yours (except I spent out on four different products!)

I've also been wondering why I didn't choose Amember Pro to start with - and now I think I know why...

The programme crops up on most search engines, but what always put me off even visiting the site was the fact that it was called CGI-central.
I hate CGI scripts and have had nothing but trouble with them on a number of good hosting companies. I was only looking for Php scripts, so the name of the site put me off.

The most reliable search site if you are looking for scripts is www.hotscripts.com - and I often came across Amember on there. But if you look at the description of it on there it says nothing about Php or about MySQL - and those were the magic words I always looked for.

Amember is truly brilliant (and the support is second-to-none) but, in my opinion, the advertising needs to make it clear that it uses the dynamic duo (Php / MySQL). If I were trying to increase sales I would :

    1) emphasise Php and MySQL
    2) emphasise the speed and reliability of feedback
    3) maybe get rid of the CGI site name.

Thought I'd just let you know my thoughts, given that you said Alex might be interested.

    Cheers

    Colin ;)
