    Hi,

Thought I'd post my questions here...

    1. I purchased aMember a few months ago - loved that it was simple and had all the features I was looking for BUT...we discovered it was not compatible with my server (asp.net 3.0). Does anyone know if aMember plans on making this script compatible with asp?

    2. I've searched high and low and can't seem to find an application that is comparable with aMember (a compliment to them). While I realize this forum is an aMember support forum, does anyone have any recommendations for a "like" app that is asp compatible?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Nothing wrong with ASP, but it might be easier to change to PHP. Your windows server should be able to run both?

We're running windows with IIS installed as webserver and my hosting company can't switch to unix. I was told we could use php (which isn't a problem to change to) but then I wouldn't be able to protect my content; pdf files, audio, video, images, etc. Any suggestions or am I missing some info here? I'd love to use aMember but need to protect pages of content.

If you are running IIS on a Windows server, any protection based on .htaccess files will not work because .htaccess is an Apache-only file. And since you are running IIS and not Apache, it simply can not work.

There is a chance IIS has something similar to .htaccess files available but I can't say much about IIS and you would very likely have to modify some aMember code or have someone write a protection plugin.

Not that I want to discourage you, but if you can, get some Apache+PHP webhosting account. They are pretty cheap these days.
