Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong. My cpanel has MX records for Googlemail and sends and receives email fine.
Ive tried to set up the email in amember admin by chosing smtp host as method and putting 'username@mydomain.com:mypassword@mail.google.com' then try sending a test email but i get the error message:

WARNING: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution in line 105 of file class.smtp.php
WARNING: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to mail.google.com/:25 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution) in line 105 of file class.smtp.php

    Email method verification

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was an error sending the email message
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

Maybe ive set it up all wrong. What do I type in the smtp host box for google mail?

I don't know what is wrong, but have you tried using phpmail? I use it with my gmail address and it works flawlessly.
