Any help appreciated. I am having trouble trying to stop the Signup email from being sent out when a recurring membership is renewed. In admincp/setupconfig/email the "Send Signup Email" says it should be sent for the "FIRST" subscription. I suspect that my problem is b/c my transactions are being processed with Auth.net AIM, so maybe aMember is interpreting each transaction as "FIRST". My relevant settings on this admin page are as follows: Send Signup Email: yes Send auto emails: blank/none Send auto emails after renewal: continue old (no additional emails added to standard settings) I am still tweaking the site, so the CC processing is set up in Test Mode. Actually, Auth.net is in Test and aMember is Live. This way aMember should be processing transactions as if they are real without anyone joining before we are ready. The site is www.121books.org if you need to look at it for any reason. I welcome all the Forum members to check out the site and tell us what you think. Thanks...
Could you paste a content of such a email here? What is it look like? May be it comes from Authorize.Net ?
Here's the Signup email First, just for all my curious friends out there; this account/product is just for testing purposes, no real CC info, and the product group will be deleted prior to us going live. I am trying to use the Forum and not the Support Desk b/c I can wait a day or two (notice the date, it's X-mas time folks) and I think this is one of the better Forums on the Net. It is full of solutions and maybe this thread will help someone else down the road. On the site, I set up an extra product for testing the cron job,CC processing, login, etc. It is priced at $2 and recurring daily. These emails serve as a nice receipt for members, but after their initial Signup they can check all this in thier member profile. Also note that the "charged on" date is blank. This is something I haven't gotten to yet. The email header info is: From: \121Books.org\[webmaster@121books.org] To: support@121books.org Cc: blank Subject: Subscription renewal -- The From: shows that it is coming from me, www.121Books.org, these are the names/email in the admin/setupconfig/email.-- The email body is: Hello Anthony Test7, Your subscription has been renewed automatically by membership system. Your credit card was charged on \$2.00. Next renewal date: 12/24/2005 You may use your subscription here: http://121books.org/amember/member.php Thank you. -- Site Staff <webmaster@121books.org> Alex, you mentioned it may be the Auth.net email but that is arriving in a seperate email. I figured I would handle anything with the Auth.net email through thier system, but if you (or any Forum member) has a tip on how to stop the recurring Auth.net emails I would appreciate that too. The email Body: ************* TEST MODE ************* ========= GENERAL INFORMATION ========= Merchant : 121BOOKS.ORG Date/Time : 23-Dec-2005 01:00:07 AM ========= ORDER INFORMATION ========= Invoice : 36-421 Description : Daily Amount : 2.00 (USD) Payment Method : Visa ==== BILLING INFORMATION === Customer ID : 25 First Name : Anthony Last Name : Test7 Company : Address : 121 any street City : miami State/Province : FL Zip/Postal Code : 33189 Country : US Phone : 305-969-1695 Fax : E-Mail : support@121books.org ==== SHIPPING INFORMATION === First Name : Last Name : Company : Address : City : State/Province : Zip/Postal Code : Country : So, what's the verdict??? www.121books.org
It is not signup email - it is an email message about rebill. This message is required by payment systems terms and will save you from chargebacks! There are no ways in aMember CP to disable it, and believe me - you don't need to do disable it! Signup email is sent only first time and it contains username and password. You should not disable it also, but it is on your choice.
Thanks for the clarification and your quick reply(s). Oh, and did I say, AMEMBER ROCKS www.121books.org
