I want to make it as easy for my potential customers to sign up as possible. I want them to simply type in their email address. They receive their password by email and their email address acts as their username. I searched the forums to find 'email as username' but I could only find a thread for an old version of aMember. Can someone help me out? I have 0% programming knowledge. Thanks!
It can be done easily. Go into aMember admin -> Forms Editor -> edit the default Signup form and remove Username and Password blocks from the left column onto the right (just drag & drop). That way you're left with only Product block, Payment block, Email block and First/Last Name block (which you could remove as well, if you don't need that info). And the signups will go through just fine with that minimal info... and they can log in with their username or email, no problem. You don't have to reconfigure anything in v4 for that to happen.
