I'm looking for a way to provide site license access to my protected content for small groups of 5-30 users. For groups with static IP addresses I can use .htaccess and restrict access by IP.

In studying aMemberPro it seems like I could set up a single username/password account and disable the IP auto-locking to allow several people to access the content with a single account.

Are there any downsides to setting up a small site license this way? Alternate approaches? Anything I'm not thinking about but should be?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

That would work, but you would be unable to limit its usage. Someone in Boston could easily share their username and password with someone in New York. But to answer your question, yes, you could disable IP checking and anyone with the correct uname/pass could log in.

The IP checking is not always a great option, especially when some client's ISP's change their IP address daily.

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming I could still see the log for logins with their IP addresses and could intervene manually if I saw anything that looked fishy.

Are there other ways that you know of to set up a site license for a group with access via dynamic IP addresses?
