When exporting the database through phpMyAdmin, there's various options of which I'm not sure. By default, some are selected. There's a screenshot at http://glvr.com/temp/amember/1.jpg. I've no idea whether I need to change any of them.
Your defaults look fine. You may want to uncheck use hexadecimal if you want to be able to read the content of those fields in a program like notepad. David
