I have a vBulletin community which has only been open a short time. I have less that 20 paying members, but I also have over 400 members which are enjoying two months of free access right now which will expire on 11/15/2009. New registers are not getting free access at this time. The free access was turned off about a month ago, hence the 20 or so paying members. I figured that when I import my list of users into aMember, I could just manually go into the 20 paying accounts and change the expiration dates of their subscriptions. Is this correct? Can I do this? Here is the problem that I am having. When I import my vBulletin members into aMember, everyone's Status shows up as Expired. They still have roughly 18 days of free access. I entered in the subscription start date of 9/15/09. I entered the subscription expire date of 11/15/09. What should I set the Subscription Payment System to? If I select Free Signup, will all these members enjoy another free subscription when this one ends? If I select Pay Pal, which is the payment form I use, will all these people be accidentally charged my subscription fee when the subscription ends? What does it mean if I select Manual Payment? How does this selection effect the free subscriptions when they end? I have not replaced my current vBulletin user database with the aMember user database yet.
This does not matter what you will select as payment system. In your situation difference will be only in user's account payment history (/amember/member.php)
