I am running amember on a server in Belgium, however I my self am located in Canada, Ontario.

Here is the problem, whenever someone signs up on amember it stores the user with the time from Belgium. Is there any way we can set time in amember? It looks like amember is registering users based on the UTC time, can't we change it to look at the system time instead ?? WIth the hour difference from me to the server I makes it hard to track users.

And here is something else i find weird. When one clicks on "Add User"

It shows the following before hitting Save,

Signup Info: Time: 09/29/2004 03:18:26 IP:

After i hit save it stores the user as,

    Signup Info: Time: 09/29/2004 08:20:11 IP: XX.XX.XX.XX

Why is it doing that? Why doesn't it store the user with the time above? Instead it stores the user with UTC time.

Now i understand one can change the UTC time on the server so it matches my local time, however amember should not be looking at that time, instead it should be looking at the system time like pretty much every other software out there does. For example Vbulletin, it does not look at the UTC time it looks at the system time.

I hope a solution for this is available as it is quite annoying.

aMember uses ONLY server time and MySQL server time. There values can be different and it is serious problem, ask your hosting support to fix this.

aMember doesn't make any timezone calculations, it is planned for future versions.

Thanx for the reply alex, So what you are saying is that I should be changing the Mysql time ?? I didn't know such was possible. The server is mine so i can do whatever i want on it. However i really am not sure about this mysql time

I have changed the MYSql TimeZone to match mine and it now seems to be registering users with correct time.

By default MYSQL is at MST time.

    Any progress on Timezone Support?

    Hi Alex

We'd also like to see Timezone support, so we can configure an offset from server time.

The people who use our aMember Pro site are usually located in one timezone but our server isn;t in that timezone, so their midnights are different.

    Cheers

Yes, I would like to see this too. My payment processor is in a different time zone than my server, so it makes it a little harder trying to match up payments with their system.

    I can't find it?

    Hi,

I'm assuming it's not in version 3? I couldn't find anything about it in the user manual? If it is now possible to change, can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

    Ronnie

You cant change it in the software- you need to change it on the server.
