I am in the Adult content provider business (I sell pics to webmasters for licencing fee) Hi I am new to this and have done a lot of research to try and find a billing processor. I know I can go Merchant, or 3rd Party. I know Merchant accounts can be expensive and since I am just starting I would want to try 3d party. I see that within the last year a lot of 3rd party payment processors have gone belly up due to new VISA restrictions and other problems I realize that VISA now charges a 750$ initiation fee and 390$ yearly fee on all 'High Risk' (Adult) merchant accounts. I know that paypal doesnt support adult accounts and heard that YowCow is a really good alternative. I just got an email from YowCow saying they just had 300,000$ in transactions in 6months and they seem to be getting more support. can you add suport for YowCow because I think I would like to try them out and see how it goes. I read another thread regarding adult biz and billing options and they are also trying yowcow. is there any other cheap alternative for adult biz?? Thanks
Adult - High Risk Content 3rd Party Processors In my research, I have identified over 35 third party credit card processors including 9 that accept high risk - adult content. The high risk ones are VolPay, Verotel, Process54, PartyKey, Moneybookers, MembershipPlus, Jettis, iBill, and CCBill. You can see information about all of these on the Maculator website www.mgoldmine.com and you can compare their rates and monthly costs, as well. When you visit the site you can select "High Risk Content" from the drop-down list to filter your view of the providers. There are other filter choices as well including Digital Products, Affiliate Opportunities, Multi-Languages, and others. There are other adult accepting processors that I know about that are not listed because they do not publish their fees and do not respond to e-mails requesting fee information. The fees of those listed range from about 6% to 23%. The problem with YowCow is that it's a pre-paid account which makes it difficult for buyers to sign up and load funds in order to make a purchase. The advantage of accepting a pre-paid card, on the other hand, is that you can have customers who may not have the credit worthiness to qualify for a credit card. There are a number of pre-paid accounts like YowCow, but I do not know of a complete list. One that comes to mind is ePassporte. Some of these are listed at www.4mywebecash.com. For the adult biz it might be a good idea to use both a pre-paid account and a credit card processor? Best of luck!
