    Hi,

    I would like some advice...

When a user signs up, but doesn't pay it puts them in "PENDING" or "Not-paid". That's fine, and I understand the logic, but when they come back to the site they now need their username and password to purchase something.

The problem with that is that it makes it a little more comebersome when they sign up. It's one more hurdal for the user. I'm not saying it's hard for a user to figure it out - they can always get their details emailed to them, but not all users are so net savvy. They may come back to the site a month later and not even remember having received a password, they'll scratch their heads and leave.

I would love to hear how people get around this, or have some suggestions. Perhaps some people send periodic emails to these PENDING users with their login details, or something else. If anyone has some suggestions, please help me!

    Thanks

    Ronnie

    Re: Dreaded Pending problem

We have a similar kind of problem and have elected to stick with unique email addresses. We expected that by allowing our members to have duplicate emails they will not remember when they last signed up and re-sign up too early ... which will create a re-funds or partial refunds which we don't want to have to get into.
