    Hi All,

I am in the process of selling my online Amember business. I have a business US account and have around 300 active subscriptions each month. The site is live and continuing to do business.

My question is 'how do I sell the business to a non-US business owner'?

The hassle I have is most of the recurring subscriptions are in PayPal. I have a US account, the new site owner has a UK account.

How do I transfer the existing subscribers form my US account to the new UK account, without breaking the Amember setup or forcing my 300+ subscribers to re-subscribe again? - that's not an option so don't go there! ;-)

Is it just me, or does it seem like this should be a simple thing? People sell their businesses every day!

I heard it was a simple matter of cancelling my 'paypal address' that all the subscriptions are associated with from my US account, and then re-registering it with the UK account - and hey-presto all the subscriptions would move with it.

Is that right? Anyone have any experience with this?

Seems like knowing this before you build your business may be a good idea as it will affect your ability to sell your business.

Just FYI - 2Checkout.com doesn't have this headache, nor does WorldPay so if you're looking at processor's, keep in mind you are building your business around that processor.

ANY input is greatly appreciated as this is critical to the sale of the business, as you can appreciate.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Did you find an answer to this? I'm hitting the same issue when thinking about a membership site that I want to sell later.

Also, I've not used 2checkout before - how does it work for them?

Thanks for sharing anything you found out,
    Andy

There is no easy way to do with paypal.

if you read through the paypal docs even so much as removing the email that members signed up with will trigger a full-on cancellation.
